Snak & Yak - program for those 13 and over who meets monthly for fun activities like bowling, building and dancing
Tots to Twelve - program for those birth to 12 who meet every other month for fun activities targeted for this age group (Elmo Live, Hands On Museum, Putt Putt, etc.)
Quarterly newsletters keeping members up to date on any new research and up to date info about our group
Mom's Night out - dinner for Mom's held every other month to get out and enjoy each other's company
New parent outreach program - to fill hospitals and doctors offices with info for new parents
Changing Lives - program to help physicians on how to deliver the diagnosis and assist new parents in their new found (rewarding) journey!
National conferences to keep up to date on the latest research, therapies, medical discoveries and laws about special education to be able to pass this information on to you and assist you in any way possible!
and last but certainly not least, our annual BUDDY WALK®! Our only fundraiser is held in the fall to coordinate with October, National Down syndrome awareness month. Buddies are encouraged to form teams and raise money to support our group and the NDSS in their endeavors. Check back soon for more info about our 2011 Buddy Walk!
